I currently live in a small town nestled in the piney woods of east Texas. Rural western New York was my childhood home and, since my dad was a teacher and did not work during the summer, I was fortunate to spend those months in the Thousand Islands on the St. Lawrence River. Living on an island in a small cabin with no electricity or running water, we directly experienced the value of the natural world and all its gifts.

When my daughters adventured into their own adult lives I started a private high school. I spent almost two decades with some amazing students who taught me as much, if not more that I taught them. It was an experience I will forever cherish.

Now retired, as an author I hope to share my personal experiences with young minds yearning to live well and promote a healthy environment. We have a long way to go and a great deal to accomplish. I look forward to the ride.
